Carmen Cólogan (San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Tenerife, 1959) is a Canary Islands visual artist. She holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid.
Her work explores matter, texture, space, and silence; it incorporates themes from the island’s natural environment such as trees, dragon trees, banana plants, and shrubs, invoking an “emotional insularity” in series like Aislarios, In Terra Utopicam, and Bosque de Islarios.
She has held more than twenty solo exhibitions in the Canary Islands, Madrid, Málaga, Germany, Morocco, Lisbon, and the Czech Republic, among others.
A major retrospective of her work, titled Memoria del Átomo, was presented at La Regenta, curated by Eliseo G. Izquierdo.
